We hope to come back to the Sunshine Coast every couple of years. May try a different apartment complex next time as sometimes this can be a little noisy early in the morning when all the surfers park under your bedroom window at dawn and slam their car doors etc.

Big Marathon starts and finishes at Surf Club tomorrow morning, we may stroll down as we cannot drive anywhere as all roads nearby closed for the event.

Sunshine Coast in late winter.

We arrived to one of the coldest, wettest weekends since March 2013 and wondered what on earth was going on. Driving up from Brisbane in torrential rain was not great and we were so cold we had to turn on the heat pumps in the living area and our bedroom. We used the heat pump in our bedroom for three nights but then the bad weather moved to NSW and we had sunny, mild weather.
Our first day here

We have walked first thing most days, usually forgetting to take the camera! Went to Australia Zoo on Tuesday, again without the camera, we thought the zoo had improved and there were some very interesting exhibits.

The Alexandra Headland Surfclub is a stones throw from our apartment so we joined up for 5 years and have enjoyed one meal there, another was not too good and I won a $570 jackpot on the pokies.

Most days we drive or walk somewhere nice for lunch and then just have a light meal in the evenings, I have to say that we are also enjoying their coffee more than we did on previous visits.

Both of us are sleeping very well, perhaps it is the soothing sound of the surf pounding the beach close by – not sure but certainly is great to sleep well and relax.

Can’t seem to add any more photos so will try and second blog
